💼 Industry Field Notes

Entrepreneurs from all corners of the gaming industry shared their ideas with investors and partners at Pitch ICE (co-hosted by the publisher of this humble newsletter!)

On May 12 & 13, iGaming NEXT New York City ’22 will connect 700+ top-level iGaming and investment professionals from all over the world.

🤑 Mo Money, No Problems

SeventySix Capital and professional athletes participate in Series A funding round.

Co-founded by NBA hall of famer Kevin Garnett, the gamification and content company is committed to making sports betting easy.

Funding was led by Warner Investments with participation from several betting industry experts.

Integrated resorts operator and developer Las Vegas Sands has invested in sports betting integrity monitor US Integrity.

The platform says it’s making soccer more exciting and interactive for fans in the Middle East and Africa through online community-building.

Sports prediction games developer Network Gaming has received funding of £1.25 million from a raft of investors.

Investors include Justin Tuck, Michele Roberts, and Dodgers’ Elysian Park Ventures.

💰 New Funds & Accelerators

Looking to invest some $100 million in sports betting and tech, Cardinal Sports and Hot Paper Lantern team up to finance and guide startups.

The Sixers Innovation Lab, a venture capital fund supported by HSBE, has launched a fund to invest in startups in esports and gaming.

The Techstars Sports Accelerator will culminate in a demo day where participants will be able to present to potential investors.

🚀 Fresh partnerships & launches

Apple TV+’s MLB live-streams have been buoyed by the predictive analytic and micro-betting technology startup nVenue (who were guests on Ep16 of the pod!)

The player prop DFS and esports platform announced its groundbreaking partnership with the US-regulated cryptocurrency exchange.

'Playbook' is the world-first technology platform providing access to regulatory information.

💯 Good stuff on Linkedin

The independent ratings agency (and Ep4 guest on the pod) details the handicapping performance of sports media organizations in Q1 2022.

The developer of proprietary odds for US sports won the Best Product Innovation award at the EGR North America Awards.
