Novig launches nationwide, signs partnerships with Mets and The 4th Quarter

The news: Novig launched nationwide as a federally regulated sports prediction market this week, completing the CFTC Designated Contract Market license it secured back in June. The company used the moment to stack up partnerships rather than just flip a switch—signing exclusive prediction market partnerships with the New York Mets and The 4th Quarter, both landing within days of the federal rollout.
Zoom in: The company says it has already surpassed $6B in cumulative trading volume, and the Mets deal (its first with a pro sports franchise) puts Novig signage at Citi Field alongside broadcast-visible branding and in-game content. The 4th Quarter tie-up is a smaller but pointed pickup: the sports newsletter already runs a recurring "AP Prediction Markets" segment and name-checked Novig as a “small Y Combinator backed sports technology company” they had first covered nearly three years ago, 4th Quarter co-founder Sid Balaga said on LinkedIn.
Why it matters: Landing team and media distribution in the same window it goes federal suggests Novig is wisely treating its new regulatory legitimacy as a sales pitch, instead of just a compliance milestone.
Regen let bettors save—now its latest partnership lets them invest

The news: Regen has partnered with FusionIQ and its affiliated registered investment advisor IQvestment to let sports bettors invest the money Regen automatically sets aside from their wagers. Instead of that savings just sitting in an FDIC-insured account, it can now flow into diversified ETF strategies and goal-based portfolios managed by IQvestment—turning what used to be a passive savings habit into real long-term investing, without the user having to do anything extra.
Zoom in: It's the latest step in Regen's build-out beyond pure savings. Back in January, Underdog invested in Regen through its GuardDog responsible-gaming fund to bring auto-savings to its fantasy and prediction-market platforms, and Regen co-founder Daniel Prior told The BettingStartups Podcast he saw a roadmap toward "longer-term financial products" like Roth IRAs—almost exactly what this FusionIQ tie-up now delivers. Since then, the company has launched on the App Store, went live within the Underdog app, and undergone a product redesign. Prior tells BettingStartups the app has had around 2,500 downloads since March, and its users have collectively saved over $50,000.
Why it matters: This is Regen's savings-first thesis maturing into a full investing pipeline, and it validates the "embedded wealth" category the company has been building toward since its 2025 founding, and Prior says its customers have been asking for. “The savings wallet is the cushion our users build alongside their action, and it does that job well,” Prior tells us. “But cash sitting in a wallet doesn't compound. Investing is what turns a few dollars off each bet into something meaningful over the long term.”

ProphetX integrates with EPICK Fantasy as prediction markets continue to sprawl across different apps

The news: ProphetX, the CFTC-regulated sports prediction market exchange, is partnering with EPICK Fantasy to bring federally regulated event contracts into EPICK's peer-to-peer daily fantasy app. Eligible users get direct access to trade contracts on player props and season-long futures across the NFL, NBA, and international soccer at launch, with more markets rolling out ahead of the NFL season.
Zoom in: Both companies are leaning on a shared "no house edge" pitch. As EPICK co-founder and CEO Matt Downs put it: "Our users already think like traders. They pick More or Less, fade lineups they disagree with, and put real conviction behind their read on a game." The integration requires standard KYC, with all trades executed and cleared on ProphetX's exchange.
Why it matters: It's ProphetX's second B2B distribution deal this summer, following Players' Lounge—a sign the company is scaling by plugging into existing audiences rather than building consumer demand from scratch. It also shows how daily fantasy operators and other apps are treating prediction markets as a complement rather than a competitor.
